Peggy’s Kitchen is a cake catering business by one of my dear friends. Recently, she began partnering with Infini Tea to offer some of her signature dessert items, and she graciously offered for me to go check them out.
Matcha Azuki 抹茶紅豆卷 [$4.50]
The matcha azuki roll cake is one of Peggy’s favorites, a green tea chiffon roll cake with whipped cream and azuki bean paste. The azuki beans were cooked in brown sugar for a nice depth of flavor. I really loved that the cake was light and delicate, yet held up well to the cream and azuki paste. The lovely matcha flavor was also quite strong.
Custard Pudding 雞蛋牛奶布丁 [$4]
This custard pudding was simple yet delicious. The custard itself was super smooth and creamy, and the caramel sauce at the bottom added a bit of sweetness and depth of flavor.
Chocolate Dome with Black Tea Brûlée 巧克力慕斯紅茶布雷塔 [$4.75]
The Chocolate Dome is a chocolate lovers’ delight. The “dome” part is made of chocolate mousse infused with Taiwanese black tea and covered with a layer of dark chocolate ganache. Finally, at the bottom are two layers of chocolate and shortbread cookies, providing a nice textural contrast in every bite.
The chocolate mousse was rich and complex, with the black tea flavor complementing the chocolate perfectly. It was hard to choose a favorite among the three desserts, but I think the chocolate black tea mousse really made this one stand out for me. And the presentation was absolutely gorgeous! I am already planning to return to Infini Tea for another one.
I had a lovely time catching up with Peggy over dessert at Infini Tea. The store manager also asked us to sample a couple of their popular drinks on our visit:
Grapefruit Green Tea & Iced Milk Drink with Pudding & Boba
I’ve already written about the Iced Milk Drinks here before, which are blended milk plus add-in’s – the most popular ones are pudding and boba in a brown sugar sauce. The Grapefruit Green Tea is something new for me though, and I quite enjoyed it. I like that they add in a generous amount of real grapefruit, which gave the drink a bit of bitterness and acidity that was quite refreshing.
The desserts from Peggy’s Kitchen are a perfect addition to Infini Tea’s menu. Peggy’s dessert creations are delicate and delicious, featuring creative flavors with just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely stop by Infini Tea to check them out! In addition, you can order custom cakes and desserts from Peggy via her website.
Please note, I know Peggy of Peggy’s Kitchen personally and was also treated to the desserts and drinks at Infini Tea. All photos, writing, and opinions are my own.
